Drink me

I love how these bottles are wrapped with the burlap and velvet ribbon, so pretty. I think it would be the perfect hostess gift. Around this time of year I like to have a few extra bottles of wine on hand to bring with me if I'm headed to a friend's for dinner or it's just so crazy I can't seem to remember to stop by the store.

Is there any special tricks that you have up your sleeve to keep the holidays running smoothly? If so please share because I could use all of the help I can get.

omg, that is a great idea - and burlap is super cheap.

Oh I love that idea. I was already thinking I was going to wrap all my gifts in kraft paper and this burlap is a great look for wine. I'm sure I'll be gifting it a lot of bottles this year.

I love that! Wonder if it's glued on?

Ooh I love these! They have such a rough, organic, homespun appeal. And the orange velvet ribbon adds a great touch of warm glamour.

One thing that I find really helpful is to bake up huge batches of your favourite cookie dough, then measure out scoops onto a baking sheet, freeze them, and once frozen pop the balls of dough into a ziplock bag. Keep them in the freezer until you need a quick bunch of cookies hot from the oven---you can bake them straight from the freezer, they take just a few minutes longer than if they weren't frozen.

They're great for taking to parties or if you realize you need a speedy gift for someone at the office, etc.

I also love to keep simple, elegant gift wrapping supplies on hand: tissue paper in solid colored metallics such as gold and copper, and a big roll of ivory grosgrain ribbon. It's a look that's not associated with a particular religion, and just conveys the warmth of the season.

so cool... much better than an ugly 'bottle bag' and obviously more chic and loving than a nude bottle. Makes me want to drink! ;-)

My trick is doing all decoration while the kids are in school. But I reserve decorating the tree for us together as a family. They love doing that!

Another holiday touch that's lovely is taking spheres of grapevine and wrapping them with white lights that are on brown cords. A grouping of three different sizes can be popped on top of armoire
or shelves and really adds a level of texture and surprise.
