Whew!

If you've been wondering, "what is her deal with the posting?" lately here's why.

Here's mid-April through May in a nutshell.
School Golf Tournament/Auction/Dinner Fundraiser which turned out to be a lovely evening.

A Mother's Day Tea
Of course there was the getaway to Cabo.
Family Birthday parties
End of the year Kindy Chicka Chicka Boom Boom Luau.

Ending up with today, the last day of school. I'm relieved that things are slowing down around here but also shocked that my Big is a 1st grader and Little is starting Pre-K. The past month has been a whirlwind of fun but I'm glad to be back to the good ole' blog. Crossing fingers that June is full of goodies for you because I've missed you lots.

Perfect day

I know this gorgeous 80 degree weather is fleeting but it sure makes me want a day full of happy things like picnics, bike rides and beautifully wrapped presents.

Oh Eddie

It's been awhile since I've mentioned Eddie Ross but his layers of vintage linens are so lovely I had to share. If you've been a long time reader of Sarah's Fab Day you know that vintage linens are one of my favorite things, so I may just have to dig some of mine out and copy Mr. Ross pronto.

He also has instructions on how to care for and find vintage linens so if you're a linen lover it's a must read.

True Blood

I can't wait for the scary camp of True Blood, it starts back up on June 13th.

I'm back

Morning friends. I'm happy to be home, to have breakfast with the babes and have slept in my own bed. The old saying, "There's no place like home" is so true isn't it?

PS - We had lots of fun.

Weekend

How was your weekend? I hope that if you're a Momma you were treated like royalty for Mother's Day. So what's on the books for this week? I have several blog posts to finish...yikes! And outfits to plan for next weekend. I like to get all I can into a carry-on so planning is a necessity. My little trick is pick out shoes first and then plan outfits around them, hopefully it will be easy this time around.

Oh my

While we're still not too far out on the subject of Stupid Family Stickers, a classic in the making was sent to me by my friend Sara.

Her zoo, 5 dogs, 4 cats, 2 birds and a couple of scorpions, do we care? Ugh. Why people, why?!? I just don't get it, why fug up your car in this manner? Oh well, c'est la vie. In the comments section of the last SFS post stupid vanity plates have also been touched upon which in itself is a great topic so here's a couple that people have actually commented or emailed me that they've seen lately.

"NOTEE1", "CINDERELY", "FLHSE", "XCHRLDR" (who cares???) and last but not least..."ILVTRGT (complete with Target license plate holder).

3BBYDDY" Talk about classy!

Seen any good ones in your neck of the woods?

Make it :: Homemade Pop Tarts

I'm literally drooling this morning over these homemade Pop Tarts from Smitten Kitchen. I have never really liked the overly sweet, leave a weird greasy feel in your mouth taste of Pop Tarts. (Not to say that I haven't eaten them because I have.) These look much better and I think the kids would get a kick out of them.

My mind is ready to be numbed.

Do you ever feel just completely insecure? It's like a strange panic washes over your body and thoughts bombard your brain from every obscure angle. Am I a good enough mom? Pilates teacher and blogging...what the hell kind of job is that? Do I do enough for others? I wonder if everyone thinks I'm being a total B today? Arrgghhh! The thoughts never cease and they're so random. For me I usually have one or sometimes two days of panic a month where nothing goes right and all every single little thing I do all day takes so much effort.

Today is one of those days, however I'll look on the bright side knowing that tomorrow I'll wake up and think, "what the hell was I thinking yesterday?" because these spells do not last long. My cure for today will be drowning my sorrows in TV, nothing like a night of being a couch potato to numb the brain. Hopefully there's something good on. What are your cures for days like this?

Love it :: Paper bouquets

I'm completely swooning over these paper bouquets and pomanders from Whether Paperworks at Etsy. They're handcrafted and can be made with keepsake paper from your favorite books or photos. So gorge right?

Read it :: Aureta's Blog

I'm dying over this fabulous look from Aureta's blog, I must wear something like this in Cabo. Where does one find a traditional, hand embroidered Ethiopian dress on short notice?

Ellen Pompeo's House

I know this might make me seem slightly superficial but I think I like Ellen Pompeo more now because she has such a great house.

Peach picking anyone?

You know what I really want to do this week? Go pick some peaches at Schnepf Farms. I've never gone and the peaches are really, really good. Maybe I can pack up Little and we can go pick a few on Thursday.

Mmm, think of it now, peach cobbler, peach pie, grilled peaches and peach margaritas!

Weekend deets and SFS Volume I

Happy Monday right? How was the weekend? Mine was fab and has me all exciting for a vacay I'm going on in a couple of weeks. We had dinner with the other couples that we're going with and I'm ready now to hop on a plane today! Cabo here I come! Now I just need to thoughtfully plan my outfits. Any suggestions?
On another note a girlfriend and I have talked on numerous occasions about Stupid Family Stickers, then we decided that we should do a blog post about them and see where other folks stand on the issue. I couldn't really tell you why these bother me so much I just think they're super fug and kinda lame. Here's a showcase of what we found so far
This is a classic example of Stupid Family Stickers, the family pet is included and they're all wearing Mickey Mouse ears. LAME.
We get it, you and your 3 littles love the islands.
This one kind of has me puzzled, are they jumping rope? The family that jump ropes together stays together?

The the best one yet the Final Score. In case you were interested Boys 1, Girls 4, what they obviously don't know is...we're not interested.

We hope to find some good ones this week, me and my Street Style SFS partner are on the look out for this holy grail of SFS. I've seen it before and all I could was shake my head. I just need to have my phone at the ready because those stoplights can turn mighty fast when you're trying to get a good shot. Stay tuned for Volume II.

{thanks to Angeline for inspiring me with her always hilarious mobile pics and Jenn for taking such great pics!}
