Winter to spring is happening fast here in AZ. It's been beautiful and sunny in the 70's but I'm missing the little bit of winter that we do get. So I feel like my cold weather clothes have gotten very little wear this year. The best way to dress here is layers; the 37 degree mornings that quickly morph into a warm sunny day need great transitional items. Here is what's on my list for this Arizona winter.

Here's what I've been digging. Simple earrings with a fancy back? Sign me up. I've been living in a blazer and tee the past few months. Need a pulled together, quick, chic party outfit? Check! Trust me on this one. Spring sunnies this year must involve the colored mirrored lenses even better if they have a cat eye. Lastly I'm missing short hair, I'm ready for something a little edgier.

What I'm Loving :: Fall

Here's a snippet of what I'm loving

Bailey at Peppermint Bliss and Biscuit is slaying it. As much as I love a good neutral I die for color. Her work is always unexpected and vibrant. This wallpapered bookshelf detail I'm obsessed with, so good.

If I wear earrings I almost always wear studs, these Alphabet earrings need to arrive in my stocking this year.

One of my favorite things about Italy was how if it was late afternoon they always served you a tiny nibble with a coffee or cocktail. This snack caddy is perfect for afternoon entertaining. (via)

I made the apple cider cocktail, yum. Easy and very fall. I used the Trader Joe's Spiced Cider and it made my Sunday.

Dress Up :: Fall On A Budget

So we're back and again it's been almost a week since I posted. Ah, Sunday the day of procrastination the perfect day for blogging. I had all sorts of good intentions of a Knock It Off post or maybe some cool Friday links last week but it wasn't to be. I had a runaway dog and a sick kid which of course all happened at the same time. Fun times I tell ya! So I thought we'd play dress up today with all items priced below $100. It's transitional time right now so even though it's still hot we want to pretend it's fall so I kept that in mind when I was playing dress up.

Want it :: Necklace

Just as I was busy complaining about how lame Hart of Dixie is they go and have one of the characters wear a necklace like this.

Crap. Now I'm still going to have to watch because I love the clothes. I know this image has crappy resolution but Lemon (yes, I know Lemon.Yikes.) is wearing a necklace with pearls and gold spikes. Lo-ove, totally and completely. I must know where she found it. Ideas?

Want it :: Emerald

I know that Fall in Arizona doesn't mean much, it's a blink and you miss it kind of thing. Now that we're on the heels of it though I must get a few emerald accessories to transition into the cooler weather. Looks good with animal print don't you think?

Make it :: Friendship Bracelets

The summer between 7th and 8th grade all I did was make friendship bracelets. I did it at home, at my swim meets and probably in the car too, I couldn't get enough! I remember my friend's cousin had one that was about an inch and a half wide and I was completely in love with it.I think I spent a good portion of time trying to recreate it. I've been seeing them pop up in blogland and I particularly like them adorned with rhinestones.

Any takers for a bracelet making party? At least now that we're older we can have summer cocktails while we act crafty!

Dish with me

My diet went well. I didn't feel deprived for one second. It was touch and go for a moment just remembering to snap a picture but it was good.  There were a few things I noticed while I was gone that I wanted to share with you but since I was dieting I decided to wait.

1. I think I need a stylish BFF that wears glasses with thick rims. Think Brad or Tommy. And apparently striped ties.

 2. Don't you think accessories are a quick way to spruce up what you have going on in your closet? Here are a few things that my closet is wishing for this spring. Wedges and new sunnies.

3. Let's talk TV for one moment, have you been watching Real Housewives of Orange County? It's so bad I have to cover my eyes at least 10 times per episode. Hopefully I can make it through. Tamra is pitiful and Gretchen and Slade? Eww, no more morning shots please I might just die. Do you watch Glee? I don't normally talk about it but I think that Blaine is my absolute favorite character and he's not even one of the main ones. He's just so adorable and is the best male singer hands down. Lastly on the subject the show that I love watch and am slightly embarrassed about is Kourtney and Kim take New York. Why? I have no idea, I'm like one of million other people in America, fascinated by the Kardashians. I definitely think that Khloe and Kourtney is where the entertainment is but Kim is stunning so I guess she can be allowed to stay.

Sorry, I know it's early but doesn't this slightly make you want to barf?

HELP!!!

So most days I go to the gym, I try to do about an hour of cardio and sweaty cardio calls for a pony. Most girls are fine with a pony but my hair starts to break so I have to be careful. I asked my pal Tina who does my hair, "what can I do?" and she laughed and said, "wear a scrunchie". I wanted to die, seriously...scrunchie? And she laughed again. I know all of you smarties out there can come up with a solution for me.

I know I have some serious pictures of me rocking the scrunchie in high school. But I'd have to dig through a box and scan and that's a hassle. But this leads me to my next topic, the trends that you have to laugh about later. Last week I went out to dinner with a group of friends and we were laughing about pleather pants because we all had a pair. And I'm pretty sure if I recall we thought we were hot stuff. I think I need to dig up some of my more finer moments of fashion for you all to see. I wonder if I could find them? Scrunchies, pleather I'm sure there's some good ones!

Gold Rush

I don't know if I mentioned it earlier but the new fabric is printed with gold. Yum. I love all things shiny. And while we're on the subject of gold this early birthday presey came and they're adorable (and way comfy). My husband and I are headed on a trip to Cabo in a month and I wanted them early so I could bring them on my trip. Thankfully Mom came to the rescue and ordered them.

I need new spectacles

Last night I went to Spiked with one of my girlfriends and on the way home we stopped at a local watering hole for 1 beer. It was a hole in the wall bar that hosts local bands and lots of indie hipster peeps. We had quite a time people watching, eavesdropping and laughing. One of the girls we saw was wearing these, I loved them.

I don't know if they'll be the same on me as on the bun-wearing dark haired girl with the requisite plaid shirt/skinny jeans combo but they sure were cute.
