Warm fun

This time of year is bittersweet for those of us that live in Arizona. While we obviously like the heat our brief respite from it is almost over. We'll have the gorgeous days of spring here in the next several weeks and then the heat will set in. It actually doesn't get unbearable until about July (well at least to me) but I know the forecast will be warm and sunny for the months to come. So instead of whining about it I'll try to be positive...think happy thoughts.

Take a trip

I feel like going on a trip but until then I'll just have to contain my wanderlust to a few trip worthy items.

No trip to Paris in the near future? Don't despair you can wear the Eiffel Tower instead.

Wrap a package in a map, maybe it'll give your honey a hint.

Find the perfect swimsuit that will accompany you to the nearest warm beach.

If all else fails head to your nearest boulangerie, nothing a few croissants can't cure.

Galvanized Troughs

I have been really wanting a trough like this for some time now.

I haven't had any luck so I asked Erika where she got hers and she said to try a local feed store. So I stopped by a feed store while I was out running some errands Saturday and they didn't have any but told me to ask someone who worked there. Well he was helping another customer so I hung around and finally had to leave because I couldn't stand the smell [I'm the weirdo that has a huge aversion to smells]. Have you guys ever been in a feed store? OMG I seriously had no idea that large animal food was so smelly.

So I'm back at square one but I really want a couple of these, aren't they gorge? I think they would look so pretty mixed in with the trough.

Do you think I should give up on the trough and just run to Home Depot or call every stinky feed store in town?

Gap Body

I'm not usually a huge fan of Gap clothing, the clothes to me are just ho-hum. I do however like their undies (I received some as a gift) so I went to Gap Body to do a little shopping. I have to say I was very surprised to see totally cute swimsuits and cover-ups that didn't break the bank. Since I had my little, I didn't have much time to do more than grab my unmentionables and peek at the swim wear, but you know I'm headed back there soon.

Easter Fever

Since I was gone last weekend and the beginning of this week, I'm kinda late to the whole Easter thing. I don't go crazy or anything with the decorations around here but since I've been browsing blogland I'm so inspired by what you all have come up with. I'm especially inspired by Simply Seleta I just came across her blog and she had a whole little section on realistic Easter projects (not to mention she has kick-a#* personal style).
Seleta has instructions on making these Easter baskets, plus several other very cool ideas. I also have been pondering Erika from Urban Grace Interiors (serious blog envy) idea of a Peeps Wreath, such an adorable idea and Seleta and her family made them. Is this just not so great? She hung it with a lime grosgrain ribbon and it looks perfect. We are having an Easter Egg dying shindig here tonight with the cousins and I think that my 4 year old and I might be making these wreaths today just to make it a little more festive.

Easter Chicks

I found these on the event planner god Preston Bailey's blog. They are so adorable and he actually tells you how to make them. I might have to get my crafty on and try them.

Sorry about the late post, (so annoying) they are fixing some cable around here somewhere and the phone, cable and Internet were all out at the same time, grrr!

Wondercabinet

I found these gorgeous silkscreen prints on Pink Wallpaper, are they not just sublime? They are silk screened on old book pages and are created by Amy Walsh, she has an Etsy Shop called Wondercabinet.

I love browsing Esty but I get so lost in all of the just ok stuff, that I get overwhelmed. So thanks Shannon for the fabulous find.

Happy weekend!

The weekend is here and I thought that I would just post something that I have a crush on. I love sparkly, shiny, brightly colored stuff and this spring j'adore green! I saw this handbag on Kate Spade and fell in love. It meets all my criteria for a fun spring handbag, what's not to love?
