Galvanized Troughs

I have been really wanting a trough like this for some time now.

I haven't had any luck so I asked Erika where she got hers and she said to try a local feed store. So I stopped by a feed store while I was out running some errands Saturday and they didn't have any but told me to ask someone who worked there. Well he was helping another customer so I hung around and finally had to leave because I couldn't stand the smell [I'm the weirdo that has a huge aversion to smells]. Have you guys ever been in a feed store? OMG I seriously had no idea that large animal food was so smelly.

So I'm back at square one but I really want a couple of these, aren't they gorge? I think they would look so pretty mixed in with the trough.

Do you think I should give up on the trough and just run to Home Depot or call every stinky feed store in town?

love them. i just started tackling our garden... and let me start by saying i have a black thumb. honestly i can kill plants by just looking at them. but I'm hopeful, and trying again. so far so good, but i've not had proper time to go wrong yet;-) love the mix of rough and pretty. my stuff comes out like that anyway, so might as well try and make it intentional!

Do you have a Sutherlands in your area? I'm not sure if they are just a midwest thing or not but they actually had some troughs just like that in their latest ad...

We bought 2 of these large troughs last summer for our veggies - we have a teeeeny garden so this was our only hope for fresh veggies. We found ours at the local hardware store, just like Home Depot but smaller, they were about $100 each, but they do look amazing all in bloom.

Go for the trough! Great look!!

I have a couple smaller metal planter/troughs. The heat up & the soil heats up, so I lined them with thick layers of newspaper.

Great post!!

I would talk to someone that handles livestock and horse feed. They should have them. Our local feed store keeps stock of them.

Hi, Love the look. The planter in the bottom photo can be found at Anthropologie. They had a bunch on display at the store...I didn't see them online though.
