Prom

While browsing Etsy I spotted an article about prom dresses. This one in particular made me click. I love it and if I were 17 this is what I would be wearing. Oddly enough it looks a lot like a prom dress that I did wear, raspberry with a sequined bodice and a bubble skirt. This must be the updated version. So let's talk prom am I the only one who wore hideous dyed to match shoes?

I truly don't want to think about it. Every time I come across "that" picture in "the" box, I cringe. LOL.

Sad to say I didn't go to Prom so I have no tragic dress story to share, but I am excited to pretend I'm in HS again and go see 17 again this weekend. Hmm don't think Hubs is going to be too thrilled about that...

I wore my first pair of Jimmy Choo's to my prom! I also sported a tiffany blue tea length 50's prom dress that was my Aunt's. I love my prom look! My only regret was that afterward we all went to a beach house where the boy I was dating got way too drunk and was not fun to take care of! FUN!

Oh PROM - I loved All 3 of my Prom dresses. It was my hair that I just cringe looking at - what was I thinking...

P.S. I have to admit, I had better posture than the model in this picture when I showed up to my prom... Couture or not I hate this pose!!!

And no Sarah, it was not the "Whitney Hair" - that was much earlier in life - HAHAHA!!!

Matching dyed shoes were all the rage at my prom but luckily I did not give in! It's interesting to see some 80's styles come back now but in a reinvented way. There is much more of a selection than when I went to prom. My niece found a really great dress online at Elegant Mart. They have a great selection and even better prices! Check them out at http://www.elegantmart.com/Prom-Dresses-Gowns.aspx. Oh, and cute shoes too!

I love the top of this dress. I wore a backless champagne dress to my prom, and I still think I looked simple and pretty. My date work a black suit with gold EVERYTHING, very tacky.

Didn't everyone dye their shoes in the 80's? Looking back, we were such a big lot of sheep. Gals today have so many more options and don't mind doing their own thing. Kudos to them!
