We're off to take our big for his first Disneyland vacay. Just a quick two day trip, I hope he loves it. I must admit I adore the contrived perfectness of it all. Not a piece of trash in sight and the flowers are always gorgeous.

Wish us luck that the rides aren't too scary and the food isn't too gross. Any big plans for you this weekend?

But so not in a bad way. Kinda just loving the pale blue that makes you want to relax.

Just have a cocktail, then take a nice long bath.

After which I would have to snuggle in with a good book, natch.

Clean up

So today I spent a few hours cleaning and I still feel as though nothing is done. As I tidy up, vacuum, load dishes and fold laundry I notice that ewwwh my baseboards are gross. Then I look around some more and notice that I really need to dust. Seriously, I wonder will this cleaning bit ever end? I know that you need to stay on top of things and I try to do that but some days it feels like no matter how much I work there is always another mess to be cleaned. I'm sure a lot of that has to do with the two small people living with us but they're OK so we'll let it slide.

So how much time each day do you devote to housework? Are you fastidious or a bit lax when it comes to cleaning? What is your must do before you go to bed?

Love Mix

Cassette tapes bring me back to the good ole' days which is why I love this little Love Mix bag. I loved making mixed tapes with my friends, my favorites were the ones we would make for summer and spring breaks. Fun memories that's for sure.

What's in a name?

OK I need some help and I thought who better to come to than you! As many of you know I'm a Pilates instructor and I teach at a local studio [which I LOVE] but every now and again I get a request to teach privates with friends or family. So this year I've decided to make that happen by setting myself up with some business cards if someone is interested. So I need to come up with a name for my teeny little venture.

I'm not looking to be the next Mari Windsor or anything; but if a neighbor asks and doesn't want to make the drive to the studio I teach at I would love to be able to do it myself at their home. Seeing this movie poster with Renee Zellweger's pursed lips makes me not want to see the flick. I know it's silly, stupid and a bit immature but this face that she makes drives me crazy. If I see her in a movie I'm always completely distracted by her wacky expressions.

I don't mind her acting but...ugh, I can't seem to get past it. Am I alone in this kind of weirdness?

I just saw this on Material Girls and I know it sounds lame but I'm going to be dreaming of this chair tonight. I wish I could wriggle my nose and a pair would magically appear.

C'mon admit it, am I the only one who literally dreams about furniture? I really, really like shoes and handbags but any coveting dreams are usually reserved for furniture. What makes you lose sleep at night?

So after a long day of procrastination I really need to get to it! My big's 5th birthday is tomorrow and I have to admit it's a little bittersweet. When kids turn 5 they all of the sudden seem older and I don't know if I'm ready for that. We are getting ready for a Star Wars birthday party tomorrow with family and for his big "tada" we are taking him to Disneyland at the end of the month. So Mama has a lot to do!

So I need to get to cleaning and head to the groc. What's on the agenda for you this weekend?

Candy stripes

I'm dreaming of the beach and it's gorgeous here, 70's. So I know it's kinda like looking a gift horse in the mouth but who doesn't love the beach? I have a little obsession with changing houses maybe because I've never seen them in person, it must be an East coast thing. I love this one with it's girly candy stripes. I just wish the railing was all one color though then it would be totally perfect.
