Spring Fever!

While I have things to do today I would much rather be prancing in a pretty dress somewhere

or better yet a gingham bikini,

drinking something yummy with stripey paper straws (we'll leave the milk for the kids but you get the idea) by a gorgeous pool.

I know I shouldn't wish this gorgeous weather away quite yet because going to be so hot before I know it.

Happy Monday

Morning friends, how was your weekend? Mine was a good one. I officially have a Big who's six and now is missing his two front teeth. Although I'm ecstatic for him (he's thrilled) I'm kinda sad. I can't believe it goes by so quickly. Nothing a little makeup, pretty rooms and glittery goodness can't cheer up.

Hear ye, hear ye, I need some ideas peeps.

I'm kind of in a blog funk. Nothing is inspiring me or begging me to blog about it, I hate that. What do you all do to stay inspired or get those creative juices flowing? I love that feeling of being on a roll when one idea flows from another, know what I mean? So any suggestions for cool new blogs, tumblrs or flickr pages would be much appreciated. Please, please share with me what's flipping your skirt. Thanks in advance my friends.

a la Kate Spade

This morning while checking my Facebook I see that Kate Spade has redesigned their website. Love it. So then I browse their Behind the Curtain section (which I also adore) and I see that they have also redesigned their 5th Avenue shop. Ooh la la.

Seeing this gets me to thinking about how I LOVE this bright palette and how when it starts to cool off I really need to get some new family photos taken. I would love to have the fam styled a la Kate Spade. How does one do this with Mr. SFD and two little boys? I know it's August but photos usually get taken in November around here so I need to get cracking. Please, please fashionistas come to my rescue with any ideas because I'm all ears.

Green and fresh

I'm hot and tired and can't think of anything to say. Can you imagine? So for now while I gather my wits with a cold drink, I'll leave you with something fresh and green.

Sum me up

You know how you've seen the sum your style up in one photo blog posts? Well this is mine. This photo by Paul Schiefer, styled by Heidi Adams just got me the moment I looked at it. So many of the elements and colors are things that I have in my own home. I would say while I'm a girly girl I like lots of vintage with a bit of masculine flavor.

The buttons and deck of cards really stood out for me because I've been hunting for vintage goodies to fill some apothecary jars I purchased. I've settled on vintage game pieces like dominoes, chess pieces and cards but I've had a hard time finding them. I'm thinking of having the kids just rough up and dirty a few decks of cards on the sidewalk just so I can fill at least one. Anyhow I just had to share me in one snap, have you found yours?

Oh Baby!

Oh the cuteness! I have a new photo crush on Sloan Photographers, especially after seeing these adorable pregnancy photos. Mom does 3 fabulous looks, boho, vintage and Audrey. I'm sure you can imagine which one was my fave.

To-die for menu

Yesterday I was flipping through an issue of Gourmet and developed a photographer crush on Quentin Bacon from his photos for the article Rollin' on the River.

Not only are the photos divine the menu doesn't look too shabby either. I'm dying to try the Manchego with Almonds and Green Olives, yum.
