Key to the Cure

It's October the month of pinkness, I'm loving the Key to the Cure Tee designed by Karl Lagerfeld and modeled by my girl crush.

Do what you can this month buy Breast Cancer Awareness goodies, support your friends and remind yourself that affects us all.

Flower power

This couture inspired floral arrangement by Laura Dowling shown at Style Me Pretty has me swooning. I must know what the vase is made of, any ideas?

I'm in a rut

Is it weird that I have eaten a caprese salad or caprese sandwich four days in a row? It just keeps sounding good.

My kind of kitchen

I obviously have a thing for kitchens, I think it's because I spend so much time there. Cooking, baking, the various kid activities; I would say it's the hub of our home. It's not as if I don't like my kitchen I just love white ones and this one is perfection.

French Toast with Pears and Pomegranate Sauce

The recipe is going in the to-try file ASAP. Yum.

Sculptural dressing

We all know I'm by no means a fashionista but I do love to look at the fashion shows. I love the sculptural clothing that was shown by Gianfranco Ferre so, so pretty.

Lace Pottery

These lace pottery bowls are fun and so different. A piece or two might be a nice accompaniment to your regular serving pieces.

Oliver + S

I wish I could really sew, other than a straight line just so I could make something from these darling Oliver + S patterns.

Happy Weekend!

I never got around to doing a happy weekend yesterday so I'll do it today because so far so good! I awoke to see that I had been listed in one of my favorite blogs as weekend reading. So thanks Desire to Inspire you have no idea how flattering that is.

Then I received an email from Seleta that I was chosen as one of the winners of her giveaway. Yay!! Not only are the items that I won gorgeous, who wouldn't want this handsome fellow picking their name?

We've been busy, we have lots of family in town for my husband's grandpa's 90th birthday. Lots of festivities this weekend and the kids are having a blast! I hope that your weekend is full and fun, plans?

Gray Day

I'm normally not a big fan of gray but this house has completely changed my mind. Not only are the colors muted and beautiful but the furniture, vintage accessories and mill work are equally drool worthy. I would like to move in stat!

Packing dilemma

In a couple weeks I'm headed to Napa for a long weekend with my husband's family (no kids). Truth be told I can't wait! No rushing, lots of fun restaurants, wine drinking, hopefully a little shopping; sounds perfect right? Well I hate packing and now I have to plan for weather that will be quite unlike what we have going on in this hot, hot desert.

Any suggestions? I wish I could have a magic outfit planning genie at my disposal. I that it would make my life much more manageable.

A quick trip to the groc

I love how this photo is styled to make it look like someone just popped in from the groc. I think the accessories draw my eye more than the actual cabinets. The pink chair, the art and the darling polka dot bag cute, cute, cute.

When you see a front door like this dontcha just wanna run up and give it a knock knock?

Because you know when you do you'll see this inside.

TV tidbits

So thoughts on Serena's rise to the top? I have to admit I'm pretty excited to see badass Serena rather than sad puppy faced Serena.

On another note, Stephanie if you have to ask if someone if they would mind if you dated their ex you already know the answer, c'mon!

Vintage Candy

I just want oodles of these vintage cabochons and buttons filling glass jars, almost like candy without the calories.

How are you today?

Hot air balloons are quite pretty however when the weather cools off enough for them to start flying it drives me crazy. Early Saturday morning I let the dogs out to do their biz and I hear it the dreaded early morning barking. You know the kind where you scramble out of bed because you feel bad for the neighbors? We have a park nearby and in the cool months it's a prime place for the balloons take off (like every weekend) and my dog Chloe just can't handle them and barks like crazy. I need to get her some doggie blinders or something..

Here we are again with a Monday, do they make you feel dread or do you get that "it's a brand new week" feeling? Thankfully I'm recharged from my weekend, it was good. I didn't get everything done on my list my organization hit a snag or maybe it was just me being lazy. Whatever it was the hanging out was good for me.

Happy Weekend!

Sorry the posts have been light this week I'm feeling a little less than inspired. I haven't been wowed by any interiors, fashion or even TV for that matter. Hmmph! Hopefully my weekend will recharge my batteries because I could use it.

My weekend plans:
* Meeting my mom today at my new favorite coffee shop with the boys for a coffee and a yummy scone so the kids can run around outside.
* Going to the game with the hubs, hopefully it won't be a beating.
* Moving my organization crusade to my closet...scary.

You guys have anything exciting going on? If so please share because I love hearing other people's plans!

Let's do some star gazing

For those you that read this blog regularly you know that I'm not an outdoorsy type girl, unless it consists of cocktails on a patio somewhere.

I was browsing Apartment Therapy and found the fabulous Hotel Elquidomos in Chile. Each room is a geodesic dome equipped with a detachable roof and a telescope to do some star gazing.

It looks like an outdoor fantasy world, this is more like it!

Glittered Bones

I love the look of these glittered bones (Martha...naturally) and I'm thinking this might be the perfect easy Halloween craft for us.
