I've got a chair like this (not this one but almost the same) and I'm planning on painting and reupholstering it.
So I can't decide here are the options: 1.) black paint/fun fabric (think Rubie Green-esque) 2.) colored paint/fun fabric 3.) black paint/simple stripe fabric. I'm taking any and all suggestions so please help a girl out!
*I guess I should clarify the chair is most likely going into my closet, I need something cute and girly in there.
Unless you're going with a particular color scheme, I'd find great fabric first and then choose a paint color to go with it.
ReplyDeleteI do like stripes and toile, but it depends on the room you're putting it in.
I'd do a metallic paint with one of Rubie's great florals!! Love the purple one and that's one of the hardest colors to coordinate, but sine it's in the closet -- easy!
ReplyDeleteWhat color is your closet? Mine is painted am eggshell tiffany blue with white shelving/poles. I have a chair painted high gloss white with this great fabric on the seat and back.

I vote black paint and fun fabric!:)
ReplyDeletegirly closet? oh definitely color paint and fun fabric:)
ReplyDeleteCourtney's idea is amazing - as usual! I love the idea of doing a metallic (maybe like a pewter?) with a punchy floral!
ReplyDeleteI like black or Courtney;s idea of metallic. I am jealous that you have a closet a chair can fit into! Can't wait to see the results!
ReplyDeleteHave you seen the painted green bamboo chair in this month's Lucky mag? It's so cute and the color combo is great. They did the cushion in a Trina Turk fabric, but anything bright and fun would work - take a look!
ReplyDeleteI think I'd go with black paint and a bright and crazy fabric.
ReplyDeleteDepending on your color scheme otherwise, I would do a white (shabby chicish) wood finish, with either a bold cabbage rose floral, or anything with PINK!
